Automation Technician
Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and assisting with new installation of manufacturing and other equipment, from the electrical and controls aspect.
Essential Functions
- Read and understand electrical schematics.
- Fabricate equipment from blueprints per our department flow process.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and make repairs.
- Interpret and monitor mechanical and electrical installation checklists and schedules.
- Basic knowledge of panel / enclosure wiring and mechanical assembly.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with FPEC policies.
- Adheres to Shop rules and regulations.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of the Automation Technician, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week with overtime as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
- Two or four year technical degree.
- Two to three years experience.
