Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Welder joins metal parts, and fills seams and holes of metal components. Follows sketches and specifications. Inspects equipment and structures. Follows and maintains knowledge of safety protocol.

Essential Functions

  1. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing welding and fitting practices.
  2. Consults blueprints and sketches to execute jobs and tasks to specification.
  3. Set up components for welding per specifications.
  4. Uses electricity and torches to produce heat and solder together components made from steel, titanium, copper, and other metals.
  5. Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and temperature.
  6. Perform all facility manufacturing welding and fitting roles, routine and repair.
  7. Maintains a thorough knowledge of universal standards and specifications to meet building codes and legal requirements.
  8. Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
  9. Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
  10. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of the Welder, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the Engineer, the employee is required to:

Travel

Travel occasional out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week with occasional overtime as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

  1. A high school diploma or a GED.
    or
  2. Three to six months related experience/training.
    or
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Welding certificate received from trade school.
  2. One to two years of experience.
