Summary/Objective
The Panel Shop Technician is responsible for assembling electrical/electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, sub-assemblies, wiring, or assembly casings.
Essential Functions
- Assemble, wire and test industrial control panels for OEM machines from pre-engineered schematics
- Communicate with Service Department, engineers and project managers so requirements are understood.
- Inspect or test wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or for operation and record results.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with FPEC policies.
- Adheres to Shop rules and regulations.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of the Panel Shop Technician, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week with occasional overtime as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
- 5+ years’ experience working in an industrial panel shop.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Understanding and experience with variable frequency drives (VFD).
